In his career as a politician, Hazbi Lika served as a Member of Parliament in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia (2002-2003 and 2014-2016), Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs (2003-2005) and Mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo (2005-2009).

Lika completed elementary school in Tetovo. He started secondary education at the technical secondary school in Tetovo, and completed it in Kacanik. From the beginning of his education he was the initiator and organizer of various movements that enabled teaching in Albanian language. As a result, he was imprisoned at that time, and tortured by the Communist regime from the youngest age. After his release from prison, he continued and completed his education in Kacanik.

He received his higher education at the University of Tirana (1998), at the Faculty of History and Philology/Albanian Language and Literature.

Hazbi Lika is known for participating and organizing political and military movements for the rights of Albanians in Macedonia and the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.

Immediately after graduating in 1998, with the start of the war in Kosovo, he became one of the first to respond to the call for freedom as a soldier of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Recognizing the need for the promotion of the rights of Albanians in Macedonia in 2001, Lika, together with Ali Ahmeti and other prominent activists, created the National Liberation Army. During that period he was known as Commander Chela.

Improving the status of Albanians in Macedonia and the Ohrid Framework Agreement are the results of this conflict.

Hazbi Lika as an important figure in the Albanian politics in Macedonia is among the first to begin implementing the Ohrid Framework Agreement. In 2002, after the end of the conflict in Macedonia, he emerged as a founder and important political force in the Democratic Union for Integration. In the period 2002-2005, he was elected President of the Tetovo region branch, and in the period 2005-2009 served as President of the Tetovo city branch. Since the creation of the Democratic Union for Integration, he is a member of the Central Board, holding the position of Organizing Secretary in the period 2009-2015.

On May 30, 2017, Hazbi Lika was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of the implementation of the Framework Agreement and Political System.

Lika was born on April 19, 1972 in Tetovo.
