Sports hall in Plasnica elementary school opens

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Minister of Education and Science Abdilaqim Ademi put into use Sunday a new sports hall in elementary school "Mustafa Kemal Ataturk" in Plasnica municipality.

The construction amounted to MKD 24 million (EUR 400.000), whereas the facility is part of the Government's project for construction of 145 sports halls throughout Macedonia.

"Sports achievements have never come by accident or suddenly, but as a result of long-standing tradition and love for sport, as well as continual investments. Macedonia has never been short of sporting tradition, but lacked halls and pitches for the sports' development", said PM Gruevski.

He also referred to other investments in the school, such as the heating and the roof, as well as building's reconstruction supported by Turkish government agency TIKA.

Minister Ademi said the 400 pupils would now be able to practice physical education in proper conditions, adding the hall would be open to all citizens and sports teams in the municipality.

"Sport has an educational and preventive role, and we will continue to implement the project for construction of 145 halls to the very end", promised Ademi.
