Turkey visit was among the most successful road shows held by the Government, PM Nikola Gruevski said Saturday. After the realized meetings, talks and promotions, five companies announced their investments in Macedonia. This would mean a total starting investment of €23 million and creation of at least 700 jobs.

The road shows in Turkey were among the most successful so far i.e. we have fast results from some of the investors. We have had presentations not only in 5 cities but we have met 10 even 15 top companies that expressed interest for individual talks in regard to Macedonia and presentation of their business ideas, Gruevski said Saturday after putting into operation the multifunctional playground and reconstructed school “Kuzman Josifovski Pitu” in Kisela Voda in Skopje.

According to Gruevski, besides a plant for medical equipment, other four companies have announced for the first time that they will invest in Macedonia.

The plant for medical equipment previously has announced that will start the construction of a plant in October. Five companies stated that they had decided to invest. Besides these five companies, also 10 or 15 other also expressed interest to invest in Macedonia and announced to present their decisions very soon, Gruevski said.

The number of employments and investments will increase several times if other announcements for investments by Turkish companies are to be realized.

At the moment I can not guarantee for them, I can only guarantee for those who have decided and announced the investments, Gruevski said.

The Macedonian Government will continue to stay in contact with the companies that consider investing in Macedonia. The role of the economic promoters is now very important.

We have three promoters in Turkey and they should continue to communicate with them and to work, presenting them additional information. The Agency for Foreign Investment and of course the ministers in the Government should monitor this process. We work in this way, we are a well-composed team and I think the team will not miss this chance, Gruevski underlined.
