Government pays increased social aid to 10% and financial aid to foster families to 25%

The Government has paid the increased social and financial aid to citizens of socially vulnerable categories by 10 percent and increased subsidies to foster families by 25 percent. The increased social aid was paid ten days ago, and funds for permanent financial aid to foster families were paid on Monday.

The government's promise to social assistance recipients and families who take care of children without parents is fulfilled, and the support will continue in the future, Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski and Labour Minister Dime Spasov said during their visit to Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy.

The increased compensation for 25 percent to families who take care of children without parents, which previously stood at Denar 6.000 to 8.000 and now will range from Denar 8.000 to 10.000 was paid Monday. At the same time we began with the payment of increased social and financial aid by 10 percent to about 35.000 beneficiaries. We made a promise to increase it by 5 percent but we managed to increase it by 10 percent and I believe that we have helped people to receive higher aid and support from the state, Stavreski said.

He said that the government will continue with the support to citizens of socially vulnerable categories in all spheres, adding that the social and permanent financial aid will be increased next year.

The social component is strongly underlined within the budget’s frameworks and we will provide sufficient funds for all socially vulnerable categories within this year’s budget and the budgets in the coming years, Stavreski said.

Spasov said that the government continues to fulfill the promised projects by payment of increased financial aid and compensation for foster families which means increase in social protection, social security and has impact on reducing the social exclusion of the citizens of most vulnerable categories in the country.
