American company passes internal investment decision to create 1.500 jobs in Strumica

The government is in final negotiations with a global American company to invest in Technological Industrial Development Zones (TIDZ) in Strumica to build a plant for production of automotive parts. The investment is worth €20 million and will provide 1.500 new jobs in Strumica, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski stated Saturday in Strumica.

I can say that we are in the final stage of negotiations with international global company based in US for the production of automotive spare parts for investing in TIDZ Strumica and to open 1.500 new jobs. The company’s officials have visited our country several times so far. They have passed an internal division and now they are to decide at the level of holding. If everything goes smoothly, we expect by the end of October, November or December, at the latest, to announce the investment and to say exactly when construction will begin, Gruevski told the reporters after visiting the industrial zone in Vasilevo.

He underlined that the company's plan is to initially start with Brownfield investment which would employ 100 persons, and in the meantime to build new Greenfield investment i.e. a new plant in TIDZ Strumica.
