Main streets in Sveti Nikole are to be reconstructed with a fund of over EUR 760,000 under the Ministry of Finance Municipal Services Improvement Project (MSIP). Next year additional EUR 25 million will be at disposal of municipalities for capital projects.

The streets' reconstruction has been launched in Sveti Nikole on Monday, which is being realized under the World Bank loan.

"We are starting with a capital project, namely a reconstruction of the streets 'Krste Misrkov' and 'Mladinska', aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens," Vice-Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreseki said.

Thus far, he said, 59 projects under MSIP have been realized in about 40 municipalities across Macedonia. A total of EUR 40million have been distributed to the municipalities for resolving serious infrastructure problems, such as construction of water-supply, sewage systems, overhauling of school, erection of sports halls... By the year end a grant of EUR 20 million would be at disposal to municipalities, followed by additional EUR 25million in 2016, Stavreski said.
