Denar 21 billion to be allocated for road construction in 2016, Stavreski says

Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski during his visit Friday to Bosilovo municipality said that Denar 21 billion will be allocated in 2016 for construction of roads including construction of three highways Skopje – Stip, Kicevo – Ohrid and Demir Kapija – Smokvica as well as numerous regional roads as Radovis – Stip and Stip – Kocani, which will improve the competitiveness of the Macedonian economy.

Stavreski pointed out that the budget for 2016 has a strong development component and the highest level of capital investment totaling Denar 37.5 billion.

In Strumica region after the construction of road from Strumica to Radovis as well as express road from Radovis to Stip, the competitiveness of the economy will improve. As well as the construction of the highway from Stip to Skopje which will shorten the travel time from Strumica to Skopje to an hour and a half. It will enable the development of the region of South East Macedonia and enhance the competitiveness of companies. In addition to these, there are other infrastructure projects that are important as the commencement of the construction of clinical hospital in Stip, construction and renovation of schools, the sport facilities, communal infrastructure, Stavreski said.

These are projects incorporated in the budget and will provide impetus to the development of the economy, i.e. aimed at achieving the expected growth of 4 percent.
