Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski called on the Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski to launch an investigation into the affair with 30,000 falsified identity cards, published by the weekly 'Fokus'.

I've heard the story on several occasions. It is surfacing again and now when the general-secretary of (opposition) SDSM is Interior Minister I call on him to investigate the allegations and present the results, Gruevski told reporters on Sunday.

If the allegations prove to be founded than all of those involved in such activities should bear responsibility. But, if unfounded, SDSM should apologize to citizens for deceiving them in the last months, years, Gruevski said.

"We shall monitor the Minister's work. I, as a Prime Minister, urge him to launch an investigation immediately and present the results to court and general public," Gruevski said.
