Forty-three socially vulnerable families to get apartments in Kocani

A total of 43 families of socially vulnerable categories will solve their hosing problem in Kocani with the construction of the building within government's project for housing of disadvantaged individuals and other vulnerable groups.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Thursday visited the construction site of the building and was informed about ongoing activities which meet all criteria for energy efficiency construction and building completion prior to the deadline.

Kocani mayor Ratko Dimitrov said that in the settlement where social apartments are built also they already built three streets with World Bank loans. Local authorities believe that these two buildings with a total of 72 residential units currently meet the needs in terms of addressing the housing issue for people from social groups.

The building amounts MKD 63 million and its construction began in August. It also includes office space. This is the second residential facility intended for families at social risk and are built next to the already constructed building for social housing where 29 families from socially vulnerable groups which include people without parents, single parents, persons with disabilities, persons receiving social assistance and minority families live.

A total of 678 apartments have been built within government’s project. Also buildings of socially vulnerable categories are being constructed in Makedonski Brod. The second building in Kocani is to be completed by Aug. 2017. The construction of same building is planned to begin by year-end in Gostivar.

During his stay in Kocani, Gruevski is also scheduled to attend opening of rice processing plant ‘Levidiagro,’ Turkish €4 million worth investment.
