Downward trend of the unemployment rate is encouraging the Government to keep applying its economic policies, namely working on further advancing of the business climate and attracting foreign investments that generate jobs, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski wrote Friday on his Facebook profile, commenting the State Statistical Office report, released today.

"Today I am extremely happy as my dream is turning into reality. The unemployment rate has dropped to historic low 25.5 percent from 38.00 in 2006. It has fallen for 1.3 percent for one quarter only. At the same time the number of employees from 560,000 when we took power, and today we have 711,000 registered jobs, namely close to 150,000 more. These are 150,000 new jobs. Today, people who stayed at home hopeless, apathetic, frustrated, have own job, salary, insurance, future, perspective, hope, verve. All of these stimulate us to resume the same working dynamic and managing the economy, namely to keep advancing the business climate and attracting investors that create jobs," Gruevski says.

The unemployment rate in Macedonia in the third quarter of 2015 is 25.5% dropping 1.3% compared to the second quarter, the State Statistical Office said today.

The unemployment rate in Q2 was 26.8%.

The workforce was increased by 20,415 people compared with the same period in 2014, when the workforce was consisted of 690,965 employees, according to statistical data.

Of 954,610 people considered active population, the number of employees in Q3 of this year is 711,380 and the number of jobless people is 243,230.
