Gruevski: Reconstruction of Boris Trajkovski street part of several major projects in Skopje
The reconstruction and rehabilitation of third phase of "Boris Trajkovski" street from Staklara Factory to Pintija settlement in Skopje began Saturday. The investment amounts €3.7 million and its realisation is of great importance for the residents of Kisela Voda, Dracevo, Pintija, Lisice, Studenicani and other neighbouring populated areas.
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski, Skopje Mayor Koce Trajanovski and Kisela Voda mayor Biljana Belicanec-Aleksic marked today’s start of construction works which are to last for 18 months.
Today we continue a major project to expand the former street "Prvomajska" and construction of a major boulevard "Boris Trajkovski" which is of great importance for the citizens of Kisela Voda. This project began in 2011 and now is a wide boulevard with four lanes, Gruevski said.
He underlined that besides this boulevard also other reconstruction and constructions of streets in Skopje’s municipalities are continuing in the following period.
He also announced that after completion of this phase, the fourth and last phase of the rehabilitation of “Boris Trajkovski” boulevard from Pintija settlement to Dracevo is to follow, adding that such projects will continue in the future with the support of the citizens.
Stavreski said that this is a step forward in improving the quality of life of about 70 thousand people living in this part of the city.
With this major capital project, one of the largest in the municipality of Kisela Voda, we jointly contribute to safer and easier travel to Skopje of the citizens in both directions through a modern boulevard that will be part of a six-kilometres long section, Stavreski said, adding that it is important because it will allow better entrance to the industrial zone, which will attract domestic investors and create jobs.
We as central government are obliged to provide support for the implementation of such project. This is a project that is part of the total support that the government provided through the World Bank to all municipalities in the country, in which 42 municipalities were included, said Stavreski.
Trajanovski said that the length of this section, which is to be reconstructed and rehabilitated, is 2.200 meters. He pointed out that the boulevard will have four lanes with a total width of 13.75 meters, walkways on both sides with a total width of 3.5 meters, and cycling path from left side with a width of 2.75 meters.
Belicanec-Aleksic said that third phase of reconstruction of "Boris Trajkovski" in the future will connect the central point of the municipality of Kisela Voda through the industrial section, and Dracevo settlement with Dracevo village and other settlements in neighbouring municipalities.
The construction works will be carried out by a consortium comprised of companies “Beton,” “Bauer” and Bulgarian company “Ponstroj engineering.
