Poposki: For us there's only one outcome - full NATO membership
In context to NATO for us there is only one outcome which could be step forward – full membership. Everything else is within traditional cooperation and partnership. When we are disunited at home, we pay the most expensive bill outside. We still have to face challenges as we have done many times before, said Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki after the NATO Summit in Warsaw.
He said that this year’s summit was typical summit for Macedonia containing three constants: invitation for NATO membership once the name issue is resolve, judgment of the International Court of Justice which was not taken into consideration and recognition for our country’s generous contribution in NATO missions, Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
Poposki addressed the meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the nations contributing to the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan and emphasized the contribution of the Republic of Macedonia in the past 14 years within the NATO mission in Afghanistan, where our country is one of the largest contributors per capita.
Warsaw Summit Declaration on Afghanistan was issued reaffirming mutual commitment to ensure long-term security and stability in Afghanistan. Alliance expressed gratitude for Macedonia's contribution to NATO missions, with special emphasis on Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan.
On the sidelines of the NATO Summit Poposki held several bilateral meetings, Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
