FM Poposki meets Danish Ambassador Brylle

Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki and Vienna-based Danish Ambassador to Macedonia Torben Brylle discussed Tuesday in Skopje on Macedonia's EU-integration activities for the forthcoming six-month period of Denmark's EU Presidency.

At the meeting, Brylle briefly referred to his country's priorities as the EU Presidency holder, saying that the efforts will be focused on surpassing the economic, financial challenges towards re-establishing the Union's sustainable development, macroeconomic stability, as well as strengthening the single European market and the euro-currency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

Poposki expressed hope for Denmark, as strong promoter of the EU enlargement process, to keep supporting Macedonia's further integration with the EU. After a six-year candidate status and triple European Commission recommendation, Macedonia is completely ready and deserves to commence the EU accession talks.

I believe Denmark's EU Presidency will have pro-active approach to the enlargement process and appropriately valorize the meeting of the Copenhagen Criteria, assessing each candidate country according to the individual accomplishments, the press release reads.
