Presentation of business opportunities abroad to boost foreign investments in Macedonia

Presentations of Macedonia's business opportunities abroad will boost the inflow of foreign investments in the country, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Sunday.

There are already tangible results from these activities, namely after the recent announcement of Belgium's largest bus company to build a plant in Macedonia, a car manufacturer also expressed interest to invest in the country and open 4,000 new jobs in the next two years, Gruevski said.

The company has not yet chosen a location, but it already registered a firm in Macedonia, the PM said.

These two companies, Gruevski said, are part of a total of ten, which as a result of the Government's promotions of Macedonia's business opportunities, have decided to invest in the country.

All presentations thus far have attracted great interest, but the turnout of Turkish companies and their interest to invest in Macedonia hit a record, the PM said.

Representatives of 1,700 companies from six Turkish cities have come to learn more about the possibilities for investing in Macedonia, Gruevski said. Some of them held talks with the Macedonian delegation and expressed interest to invest in the country, he added.
