FM Poposki meets OSCE SG Zannier

Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki met Wednesday with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, exchanging opinions on issues related to the organization, including reforms towards increased OSCE efficiency in coping with challenges and implementation of priorities.

FM Poposki expressed gratitude for OSCE's support in Macedonia, especially in the field of rule of law, enhancement of interethnic relations, education and judiciary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

Pertaining to OSCE Mission's future operations in Macedonia, Poposki said the country expected their reduction, in line with the progress achieved in spheres of the mission's mandate.

With regards to recent violent incidents, Minister Poposki said they should not be seen as real indicators of developments in the country, whereas perpetrators must be punished according to the law, as is the case with every democracy.

Zannier saluted Macedonia's progress in all spheres of OSCE's interest, voicing belief this would be reflected in the determination of the organization's future activities in the country, reads the press release.
