Macedonia investment opportunities presented before Qatar businessmen

A Government delegation, led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, took part in a business forum Monday in Doha, organized by Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QCCI), which was attended by representatives of numerous local companies.

Addressing the forum, Gruevski referred to Macedonia's continuous reforms for improving the business climate, as well as the benefits it had been offering, namely low taxes, tax exemptions in industrial zones, skilled labor force and free trade agreements, which enable access to wider regional and continental market of hundreds of million of consumers.

The PM also spoke about the country's macroeconomic stability, saying that its 2011 GDP growth is among the best in Europe.

The confirmation of Macedonia's credit rating by the Fitch Agency is a solid guarantee for the stability of your business activities  in our country, Gruevski said at the forum.

The QCCI Vice-Chairman, Mohammed bin Tawar Al Kuwari, said Qtar was interested in investments and joint projects on domestic and international markets. In this respect we certainly take Macedonia into consideration, which as we know offers favorable conditions for doing business, he said.

Vice Premier and FinMin Zoran Stavreski presented the possibilities for investing in Macedonia's tourism.

The Minister for Foreign Investments, Bill Pavleski, referred to the opportunities for investing in equity funds and transportation infrastructure projects.

Head of the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones Viktor Mizo presented the opportunities for investing in Macedonia's mining industry and gasification project.
