A solemn transfer ceremony to pay respects to the victims of the bus accident in Bulgaria; remains were delivered to the families

A solemn military ceremony was organized today at the International Airport in Skopje for the solemn transfer of the remains of the citizens who were killed in the bus accident on November 23rd in the Republic of Bulgaria. 

The remains of 45 of our citizens who arrived at the airport in Skopje were carried on airplanes of the Bulgarian Army and were met by the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, the President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, and the President of the Government, Zoran Zaev accompanied by other highest representatives of these institutions, as well as by representatives from religious organizations. 

The remains of the victims of the bus accident were also saluted by members of the families.

At the ceremony highest representatives of the state, President Stevo Pendarovski, the President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, and the President of the Government, Zoran Zaev, laid wreaths of flowers and paid their respects in front of the funeral procession of the tragically killed. Afterward, the cases were handed over to the families, so that they can be buried in their places of eternal rest. 

Delegations from the neighboring countries, the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Bulgaria, and the Republic of Kosovo also paid their respects to the victims at the Airport in Skopje. 

DUI’s leader, Ali Ahmeti, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community relations, Artan Grubi, also offered a wreath of flowers in honor of the victims as a last greeting. 

A delegation of the Government led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs also laid wreaths before the funeral procession.
