FM Poposki meets Israeli President Peres

Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Poposki met Thursday in Jerusalem with Israel's President and Nobel laureate, Shimon Peres.

Interlocutors discussed bilateral cooperation and opportunities and perspectives to improve it in the spheres of mutual interest, MoFA said in a press release.

Poposki said that Macedonia showed special interest in building, improving and enhancing favourable relations with Israel.

Both interlocutors voiced satisfaction with the continuity of communication and contacts between governmental representatives of Macedonia and Israel.

Macedonia's minister also mentioned the dynamic development and cooperation between the countries in the field of agriculture, science and education. Ways have been discussed for the improvement of economic cooperation in boosting trade exchange, attracting Israeli investments in Macedonia and promoting Macedonian products in Israel.

In addition to reviewing bilateral ties, Poposki and Peres shared views on current international issues, especially in the context of recent developments in the Middle East.
