PM Gruevski pays a visit to China

A Government delegation led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski as of Sunday is paying political and economic visit to the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

Gruevski during the six-day visit will meet with Chinese PM Wen Jiabao and will attend and address business forums on attracting foreign investments and presentation of Macedonia’s investment opportunities in Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Gruevski is accompanied by Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski, Minister for Attraction of Foreign Investments Vele Samak and Director of Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion Visar Fida.

On Monday, Gruevski is scheduled to address business forum, which will be organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) led by President Wan Jifei. Memorandum on Understanding between the Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) will be signed within the frames of the business forum.

The meeting between Prime Ministers Gruevski and Jiabao is on Tuesday at which good political relations between the two countries will be confirmed and improvement of already established economic relations will be discussed. The meeting will mean serious sending a message to Chinese companies which want open own capacities in Europe that Macedonia is a destination where they can find good conditions for doing business.

Moreover, government delegation led by Deputy PM Pesevski will attend Tuesday a business forum in Chengdu.

Government delegation led by Gruevski on Wednesday will attend business forum in the city of Qingdao and will meet officials of IT company Haier.

Macedonia’s investment opportunities will be presented on Thursday at business forum in Shanghai and delegation will meet officials of Huawei, which is a leading global information and communications technology.

Government delegation will wrap up the visit to China by Friday’s presentation of investment opportunities in Macedonia at business forum in Hong Kong. Also, Gruevski will meet with Donald Tsang, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The relations between the Macedonia and China are developing in the spirit of friendship, mutual understanding and respect of sovereignty, territorial integrity and equality of the two countries. Countries established diplomatic relations on Oct. 12, 1993 at the ambassadorial level. The governments of the two countries establish cooperation in the sphere of economy, education, culture, agriculture and technical assistance.
