Vice PM Arifi addresses conference in Doha

The Vice Premier responsible for European Affairs, Teuta Arifi delivered Monday an address at the 12th Doha Forum and Enriching the Middle East's Economic Future Conference in the frameworks of the fifth session Political Changes and Civil Rights in the Middle East entitled "Minority Rights in light of International Law".

In her address, Arifi focused on the contribution of the Ohrid Framework Agreement to strengthening minority rights in Macedonia, stressing that the document had played a key role in building democratic principles in the state and in its transformation into a functional multi-ethnic democracy, the Secretariat for European Affairs said.

At the sidelines of the forum, held on May 20-22, Vice PM Arifi met with Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al Thani and with Deputy PM and Minister of State for the Council of Ministerial Affairs, Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud. Interlocutors pointed out the bilateral cooperation as well as Qatar's support for several projects in Macedonia related to culture, education, health and library science.

Arifi is also scheduled to visit the Qatar State University and to meet its president, Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad.
