Vesna Janevska
Vesna Janevska is a prominent Macedonian pathologist and professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje. She was born on June 27, 1958, in Skopje.
Janevska completed her higher education at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje. Later, she completed specialization in pathology, as well as doctoral studies with the thesis: "Histological Morphological and Immunohistochemical Characteristics of Primary Malignant Bone Tumours".
Janevska's professional career began in 1983 as a doctor in general practice at the Hospital for Mental Diseases in Demir Hisar. In 1987 she transferred to the Medical Centre "Dr. Trifun Panovski" in Bitola as a doctor of specialization. Since 1990, Janevska has been working as a specialist in pathology at the Institute of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje.
Throughout her career, Janevska has held various academic and administrative positions at the Institute of Pathology, including assistant professor, assistant professor, associate professor, and full professor. She was also Head of the Department of Pathology and Quality Manager of the Institute of Pathology. In the period from 2006 to 2008, she was MP in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
Janevska is the author and co-author of numerous scientific papers and publications in international and domestic journals. Her most significant works are: "Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor immunohistochemical expression in hepatocellular carcinoma without Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor exons 18-21 mutations", "Percutaneous Imaging-Guided versus Open Musculoskeletal Biopsy: Concepts and Controversies", and "Hepatocellular carcinoma - clinicopathological characteristics" survival and expression of various histologic molecular markers".
Vesna Janevska is an active member of various professional associations, including the Medical Chamber of Macedonia, the Macedonian Medical Society, the European Association of Pathologists, and the International Academy of Pathology. She has participated in numerous international and domestic scientific research projects, funded by institutions such as the University of Nebraska, the University of Würzburg and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia.
Janevska received numerous recognitions and awards for her work and contribution to medical science, including the "Dr. Trifun Panovski" Charter from the Macedonian Medical Association for exceptional results in the advancement of medical science, practice, and the development of health care.
Janevska speaks English fluently and has exceptional knowledge of the Serbian language.
