Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski met Tuesday with players and the team of coaches of Macedonia's basketball team.
At the meeting, interlocutors shared views and impressions about the European basketball championship and the atmosphere in Macedonia triggered as a result of the team's great achievement.
"Congratulating the memorable sporting triumph, PM Gruevski praised the wise, sacrificing and courageous game of the national team, serving as an example of an extraordinary feat which has made the whole nation proud. The Premier conveyed nation's gratitude to the Macedonian basketball players and the team of coaches for creating a feeling of happiness, joy and for managing to unite each and every citizen of the Republic of Macedonia".
The members of the basketball team said their achievement and triumph was a triumph of all Macedonian citizens that has enabled our country to be promoted worldwide.
PM Gruevski stressed Government's preparedness to further support sports in Macedonia by building a sports infrastructure, awarding scholarships to talented athletes and endorsing national teams.
