Gruevski: Let's create a strong state and close the Macedonian issue

We want to establish a strong state, close the story of the Macedonian issue and seal our nationality, language and identity. Let's make a stronger economic state, bring more foreign investors and encourage local investors.”

This was stated by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski at a meeting with the Macedonian immigrants in Toronto, thanking them for "the unwavering support regarding these issues."

"If there has been any unwavering support on these issues, it was definitely from the Macedonian diaspora in Canada, the United States and Australia. It is a huge contribution. You probably do not feel it that much, but whoever is subjected to pressure and criticism - and that is the whole team that works with me - it means a great deal to us. It means a lot to us that you never forget Macedonia," Gruevski noted.

At an event in Toronto, Macedonia's numerous opportunities were presented before Macedonian businessmen.

The immigrants showed their support for Macedonia's Euro-Atlantic integration bid, saying that it was the right direction for development and prosperity of the country.

Macedonia's government team that also includes Deputy PM and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski, Minister for Foreign Investments Bill Pavleski and director of the Directorate for Technological Industrial and Development Zones, Viktor Mizo presented the investment opportunities of Macedonia at a business forum in Montreal.

"It is good that a government delegation is here to meet with businessmen who are expected to show interest in the coming years, to come to Macedonia and make an effort to verify these facts and see personally that Macedonia offers favourable conditions for investing in Europe. I expect contacts to be made at meetings with hundreds of Canadian and American businessmen that in the future could allow new investments to be made and new jobs to be created. It is the main objective of the government while travelling abroad and presenting the business conditions of Macedonia," Minister of Finance Stavreski said.
