"Macedonia Without Waste" campaign in 60 municipalities

A campaign dubbed "Macedonia Without Waste 2012" is taking place Saturday in 60 municipalities across Macedonia at an initiative by the Association for Clean Environment "Let's Go Macedonia" and with support by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning.

The campaign aims at cleaning the waste thrown in inappropriate places and at raising public awareness on proper waste management.

Environment Minister Abdilaqim Ademi and his deputy Stevo Temelkovski together with the Swedish and Slovak ambassadors - Lars Wahlund and Robert Kirnag - and other diplomats are joining the main event of the campaign "Macedonia Without Waste 2012" in the illegal market on the bottom of the Skopje Fortress.

"A cleaning campaign is under way to get rid of old paper in schoolyards and to install stands in municipalities where citizens will be able to leave their waste," says Antonio Jovanovski - president of the civil association "Let's Go Macedonia".
