Macedonia 2025 and SEAF will form a new capital fund for investment oriented towards Macedonian enterprises.

The establishment of the fund SEAF Macedonia I, was announced today by the organization of the global investment forum held its organization in Ohrid.

Besides investing, the members of Macedonia 2025, a group of successful entrepreneurs and business executives worldwide who have Macedonian roots and live in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia, will offer mentoring and market access to Macedonian entrepreneurs.

- This is the first fund of its kind where the diaspora has been the catalyst and leading investor that puts an accent on the country and region. We will cooperate with SEAF with a great pleasure in order to make a successful fund and to trace the way for new funds. Our Board of Directors is delighted with the idea to help the SEAF in the development of business leaders and successful businesses in Macedonia, as well as to allow an access to our global network of business connections, said Mike Zafirovski, president of the Board of Directors of Macedonia 2025, who pointed out that there is no political connection between Macedonia 2025 and the political parties.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Zoran Stavreski the diaspora has not been present with investments so far, but, as he said, logistically assisted in the efforts of the Government for organizing investment forums, establishing contacts with other companies that want to invest, such as "Kemet Electronics", released and supported yesterday by Mike Zafirovski.

Prime Minister, Nikola Gruvski on the Summit opening, pointed out the activities undertaken by the Government in the quest of foreign investments and investments that are already implemented and give their effects, also stressing that Macedonia is now seen as an attractive investment destination, an important gateway to the multinational companies towards Europe.

- We will continue our efforts in attracting foreign investors and all your help, support and idea will be welcomed, said Gruevski at forum adding that the government would continue with maintaining sound economic policies and implementing further reforms that imply low taxes and structural reforms in order to improve the business climate.

The motto of the summit, which had over 350 participants, is "New features: Through business diaspora to increased trade, investment and economic growth."
