The first section of the extended boulevard Boris Trajkovski opened for traffic

The first section of the extended boulevard "Boris Trajkovski" – the former street "Prvomajska" starting from Rampa to the crossroad with the street "National Heroes" in a length of 1380 meters, today was put into traffic. With the expansion of the existing narrow street has been transformed into a four-lane boulevard, two in each direction, 3.5 meters wide.

On the official opening of the first section of the extended traffic boulevard "Boris Trajkovski", attended the Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and the mayors of the City of Skopje and municipality Kisela Water, Koce Trajanovski and Marjan Gjorcev.

“The former narrow street "Prvomajska", as the Prime Minister stressed, has turned into the boulevard "Boris Trajkovski", a four-lane boulevard, bike track and all other concomitant contents.

“We are standing in front of the street which in the past was a synonymous for crowds, nervous drivers, unsafe pedestrians and a traffic gridlock. The street that was promised to be expanded and reconstructed by many, but no one managed to solve the long-standing problem,” Mr. Gruevski said.

Projects of interest to citizens, according to him, deserve a greeting, regardless to which party the mayor belongs.

“The accomplished can be seen, and the effects are felt. Whoever judges these Mayor projects as aesthetic and urban city squandering inevitably comes into conflict with the citizens, harming himself and his political option. Elections come and go, the words are remembered, but the works remain, underlined Gruevski.

He reminded that in only five days many capital grant projects including the bridge that connects Saraj and Gjorce Petrov were released, newly constructed facades in municipality Centar, expanded and reconstructed boulevard "Metropolitan Theodosius Gologanov" in Karposh.

For the realization of this project the City of Skopje invested approximately four million Euros, money provided by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the additional funds from the city budget.
