The Government will allocate over 1,200 scholarships for youth, pupils and athletes under the age of 20 in school year 2012-2013, towards supporting the development of youth enthusiasm, talent, and the educational and athletic upgrading of young people.

"Denar 35 million (EUR 570,000) have been provided in the Budget for this purpose", said Government Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev at Tuesday's press conference.

He added, "Besides the other benefits and financial contributions for young people, such as free instruction books, free transport to high schools, but also investments in infrastructure, the Government's support for pupils and athletes will stimulate young people to learn and do sports, securing a higher degree of knowledge and skills for more options in life".
