Foreign Minister Poposki meets PACE rapporteur Walter

Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki meets Thursday with the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Robert Walter, rapporteur for post-monitoring dialogue with the Republic of Macedonia.

Mr. Poposki informed Walter about progress that Macedonia achieved in the spheres of essential importance for the Council of Europe-rule of law, the judiciary, fight against corruption, the human  rights, the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement and meeting the requirements emerging from electoral process in accordance to ODIHR recommendations.

Minister Poposki also informed about relations with neighbours, emphasising that the building bridges and good-neighbourly relations are of vital interest for the Republic of Macedonia.

He also pointed out that the Macedonian government demonstrates political will and commitment on presenting concrete results in EU integration process. In this context, Mr. Poposki expressed expectation that the Council of the EU will act in accordance with the Commission's recommendation and will finally pass a decision on start of EU accession talks.
