Minister Poposki Hosts Working Luncheon with Heads of UN Agencies Offices in Macedonia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Poposki, has hosted today a working luncheon with the UN Resident Coordinator and the Heads of the UN Agencies and other organizations accredited to the Republic of Macedonia, marking the 24th of October, the Day of the United Nations.

At the meeting, Minister Poposki and his international guests have exchanged their views on the program activities of the UN agencies in the Republic of Macedonia. On that occasion, reflecting on the good cooperation that the Republic of Macedonia has thus far had with the UN agencies in the country, Minister Poposki has offered his categorical assurances that the country’s national institutions will continue supporting the activities of the UN agencies in the country in the future, which he has, in addition, deemed as being fully complementary to the European integration-related agenda of the Republic of Macedonia.

The representatives of the UN system in the country have, on their part, informed the Minister on the role that the UN agencies have been playing in the Republic of Macedonia, being first established in the country at the beginning of the 1990’s, discussing with Mr. Poposki, as well, the possible modalities of intensifying the cooperation between the agencies they are representing and the Republic of Macedonia in the future, by, certainly, aligning them, at the same time, with the country’s national priorities.
