2013 Draft-Action Plan on EU Integration adopted, says PM Gruevski

Macedonia's Government has adopted the 2013 Draft-Action Plan on EU Integration, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Thursday.

The Draft-Action Plan on EU Integration for 2013 is harmonized with the recommendations included in the EC progress report for 2012.

"Almost a week ago, all items were discussed at a government session after being reviewed by all institutions and commissions. The new roadmap was passed following a thorough discussion and it is harmonized with the recommendations included in this year's progress report by the EC. Then it was submitted to the Parliament, where MPs will hold a debate, after which it is set to be reviewed in Brussels," Gruevski said.

The action plan is to be adopted as soon as it is returned by the Parliament and from Brussels. "Hopefully, we will focus on the obligations stemming from the new roadmap," the PM added.

Referring to reforms, Gruevski said the Government remained firmly committed to them "not only because they are important for becoming an EU member, but also because the reforms improve our living standards."
