Premier Nikola Gruevski, Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska and Ilinden Mayor Zika Stojanovski formally opened Thursday the new House of Culture in the Skopje municipality.

The spacious building of 900sq.m includes a gallery, reception hall, cinema theater, library, conference room and premises for NGOs.

The EUR500.000-project was realized by the municipality EU award of EUR200.000, while the reminder was provided by the municipal and government's budgets.

"I feel great when visiting municipalities that know what they want, how to work and always promote new projects, ones that do not only rely on the government's support," Gruevski said at the opening ceremony.

Mayor Stojanovski extended gratitude to the PM and Macedonia's Government on their continuous support of projects in the Ilinden municipality. Such assistance creates conditions for the municipality's development and self-sustainability, he said.
