Promotion of 13 new titles, part of translation of 1.000 textbooks -project

Premier Nikola Gruevski and Minister of Education and Science Pance Kralev promoted Tuesday 13 new titles  - part of the government-led project for translation of 1.000 reference books and textbooks used in top universities across the globe.

Thus far 750 titles have been translated and distributed to libraries and universities throughout Macedonia. The project is to be finalized in the next year.

For the first time in Macedonia budget funds have been allocated for such a project, namely for bringing the latest scientific literature to students into their mother tongue, Gruevski said at the promotion.

He expressed satisfaction that the translated textbooks were being used as primary source of knowledge at the faculties. It will be beneficial for Macedonia's future in terms of attracting investors to the country as it offers educated and skillful workforce, the PM said. This Government has been focused on building a society of knowledge and creativity, he added.

In times of fast-developing technology and dynamic economic activities, the knowledge becomes a driving power of productivity and economic growth. Kralev said.
