Transport Ministry and Central Register sign cooperation memorandum

As of 1 January 2013, transporters will be able to obtain all permits and licences from the Ministry of Transport and Communications in a simplified manner.

This is envisaged by a cooperation memorandum signed Wednesday by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mile Janakieski and Central Register's director Vanco Kostadinovski. The document enables the ministry as of Jan. 1 to electronically receive a current status and brief financial report from the Central Register. Previously, these documents could have been obtained only in the Central Register.

The memorandum signed today, as well as those signed previously with the ministry of labour, the employment agency and the fund for pension and disability insurance, aim at reducing bureaucratic procedures and enabling documents to be obtained solely by filing a request to the transport ministry, which will be in charge of electronically providing all necessary documents from institutions, Janakieski said.

"It also aims at further reforming the sector in order to boost the efficiency when approving licenses for transportation companies," he added.
