Macedonia's Cadastre introduces novelties - no more waiting for property certificates

Municipal offices, geodetic companies and notaries have issued on behalf of the Agency For Real Estate Cadastre (AREC) over 1.000 property certificates since the introduction of a new e-Cad application, presented Friday by the AREC management to Premier Nikola Gruevski and Minister of Transport/Communications Mile Janakieski.

The new application has been operational in the hole country, AREC Director Slavce Trpevski told reporters. The names of authorized municipal offices, geodetic companies and notaries for issuing property certificates are available on the AREC web site.

Trpevski also presented to the high guests some legal amendments the AREC was planning to submit to the Government by late January. They will enable for the AREC along with the municipalities to complete the Registration Project - the digital cadastre maps and construction of a web-based geographic information system (web-GIS) platform for sharing and exchanging the data, thus providing coverage of the whole territory of the country with basic digital spatial data sets. The amendments are related the construction land registration, which has not been done thus far, Trpevski said.
