The Government is set to pay Denar 15,500 (EUR 250) one-time assistance to each house or apartment damaged in recent floods over the course of the week.

"Moreover, representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the Red Cross will visit households in areas hit by the floods in order to make an inventory of their needs", said Government Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev at Saturday's press conference.

According to him, the one-time assistance does not encompass the partial damage compensation on the grounds of the assessment by municipal commissions.

Moreover, the Government has decided to allocate 130,000 liters of oil to municipalities hit by floods, supporting clearing up efforts.
