Government to allocate EUR 15 million for rural family business development

The Government will allocate EUR 15 million as support to the opening of new or enlargement of existing family businesses in rural environments.

"The Government support will focus on businesses in the field of agriculture production, alternative agriculture production, crafts, tourism and services", Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev said at Friday's press conference.

The funds will cover 50 percent of the investment for opening or development of family businesses, with EUR 1,500 the lowest amount to be covered.

Besides a business plan, applicants are obliged to have met tax commitments and to live in rural areas.

Priority will be given to businesses that enable the opening of more jobs.
