The deadline for legalization of tractors postponed and conditions for application on agricultural land improved

The application deadline for legalization of agricultural machinery has been extended to September 30 this year, and social assistance beneficiaries who will get land will be able to receive 100 percent of the social assistance for at least two years.

These are the two latest decisions the Government has adopted at its last session upon request by farmers’ associations.

The Government expects that the extension of the deadline would allow to a greater number of farmers to register their machinery.

-The previous deadline was April 10 this year, while the Government has decided to postpone it to 30 September. In this period, farmers will be able to submit their legalization application. They requested this and we accepted in order to enable them to legalize their property in machine tools, the Government’s Spokesman, Aleksandar Gjorgjiev, said Wednesday.

As for the second measure, Gjorgjiev said that the two years period was sufficient for social assistance beneficiaries to assess whether they can work in agriculture or to seek other options.

- Instead of the previous 100 percent of social assistance within a year, land receiving farmers will receive 100 percent of the social assistance for at least two years, Gjorgjiev said.
