Deputy PM Besimi meets Finnish Interior Minister Rasanen

The Deputy Premier in charge of EU affairs, Fatmir Besimi held talks Friday with Finland's Interior Minister Paivi Rasanen, who is paying an official visit to Macedonia.

Talks focused on the countries' cooperation so far and ways to strengthen it in the frameworks of the existing instruments for pre-accession assistance, the Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA) said in a press release.

Deputy PM Besimi stressed the importance of the support provided by Finland for Macedonia on its road to EU membership.

He also urged for continuous collaboration and support in connection to the reforms implemented in the country's EU integration process. Besimi expressed gratitude for Finland's support in meeting the political criteria required within the High Level Accession Dialogue, stated the press release.
