Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski met Friday with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, saluting friendly bilateral relations at all levels and voicing readiness for their enhancement.

PM Gruevski stressed the necessity for enlargement of economic cooperation, taking into consideration Azerbaijan is one of the fastest-growing economies in the Caspian region.

Interlocutors referred to the opportunities for enhancement of cooperation, especially in the energy sphere.

Gruevski stressed Azerbaijani investors were welcome in Macedonia, briefing Aliyev on the ongoing economic reforms, such as reduction of tax and administrative barriers, which make the country an attractive investment destination.

"President Aliyev invited Macedonian companies to Azerbaijan towards fruitful economic cooperation with the local business community".

Moreover, Gruevski and Aliyev discussed the economy in the broader region, ways to overcome current challenges, as well as mechanisms for economic growth and development.
