Turkish companies in the field of energy and minerals have shown interest to invest in Macedonia at the meeting with Economy Minister Valon Saraqini in Istanbul on Thursday.

Minister Saraqini presented investment benefits in technological-industrial development zones, especially in the sectors of energy and minerals - copper, gold, silver, lead, zinc, manganese, iron - as well as prospective sites in Macedonia.

"Representative of Turkish companies showed enormous interest for investment in the zones, whereas easier access to regional markets is considered an additional benefit. We expect that some of the announcements will materialize soon", said Saraqini after the meeting with businessmen in Istanbul.

Interlocutors agreed that Macedonia and Turkey share excellent economic cooperation and added it could intensify, especially in the investment field.
