Brazilian companies show interest to invest in Macedonia

Government economic team led by PM Nikola Gruevski late Wednesday in Sao Paulo held separate meetings with Brazilian companies that showed interest for opening plants in Macedonia.

We held meetings with officials of companies in different industries – automotive, aviation, food and medicine. Some expressed interest firstly to come to Macedonia to acquaint with the conditions for doing business and afterwards to decide about their investment, Gruevski said.

He underlined that taxes and other costs for doing business in Brazil are much higher than in Macedonia and that’s why potential investors see out country not only as a location where they would sell their products but also as a place from where their business would cover entire Europe or wider.

We are presenting Macedonia as market and location from where one can invest and sell in entire Europe. Everyone was satisfied from conditions even I would say were impressed from Macedonia’s business opportunities. We will keep in touch with them to try to convince them to invest in the country, Gruevski said.
