Macedonian archaeological heritage presented in New York

Promotion of Macedonia's archaeological heritage, culture and tourism opportunities were presented in New York-based Scandinavian House late on Monday.

Archaeological Institute of America executive director Peter Herdrich opened the exhibit, along with addresses by Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska, Tourism Promotion Agency Jordan Trajkov and professor Dragi Mitrevski.

"I believe we had an excellent promotion prepared together with the Archaeological Institute of America and "Archaeology" magazine. I referred to investments in archaeology and culture, the numerous artifacts found at Macedonia's sites, as well as protection and promotion of cultural monuments", said Minister Kanceska-Milevska.

Visitors had the opportunity to follow video presentations of the most significant archaeological sites, accompanied by promotional brochures and CDs.

Besides archaeology, the New York event also used for promotion of the country's culture, food and wine, including performances by New Jersey-based cultural-artistic club "Goce Delcev" and musician Vladimir Vasilevski-Cetkar.
