Besimi: Macedonia's EU integration - goal of all political parties

Vice Premier for European Affairs Fatmir Besimi has launched a new tradition of a European Breakfast with the diplomatic corps, and resumes the old one of meeting with former Vice Premiers for European Affairs within the Europe Day observance.

"Macedonia's EU integration is a common goal and a consensual issue of all political parties. All vice premiers provided their contribution towards this strategic goal and we are here once again to confirm Macedonia's priority to join the Union", said Besimi on Thursday.

According to him, the meeting with his predecessors was an opportunity for open discussion and a critical overview of Euro-integration.

"We agreed on the establishment of a Council of Vice Premiers for European Affairs, an informal body meeting on Europe Day and in light of the European Commission Progress Reports on Macedonia", added Besimi.

The Vice Premier said the meeting with the EU ambassadors would focus on Macedonia's Union membership perspective and opinion exchange, including Macedonia's reforms and the coming EC report.
