FinMin Stavreski: Budget is in good condition

The budget is in a good condition. Revenue stream in the first four months of 2013 is meeting the expectations and payments are completed on time, Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski told Wednesday's press conference answering journalist questions.

"According to April's preliminary data, the month is completed with a small surplus enabling increased expenditures in February, in early 2013 and in March regarding payments to firms and subsidies to be leveled. Thus, the deficit is according to expectations in the first four months and it will remain so till year's end. We expect projections to come true," minister Stavreski said.

He emphasised that there were no overdue payments adding that the firms were receiving VAT returns on time. "The government is fulfilling its promises made to businesses. All firms get VAT refunds on time. Considering the situation in Europe, I believe that Macedonia's budget is tackling the challenges well and that all projections on revenues and expenditures will be realised by year's end," the FinMin stated.

Stavreski added that the budget was being financed according to plan i.e. "with domestic financing through auctions and by providing funds with low interest rate guaranteed by the World Bank."
