Macedonia offers lowest doing business costs, Gruevski tells La Nacion

Following the recent visit of a Macedonian delegation, led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, to Argentina, the country's largest daily "La Nacion" has published an article related to the benefits that Macedonia offers to Argentine companies.

PM Gruevski stresses the lowest doing business costs in Europe, stable macroeconomic environment and the possibilities for intensification of economic cooperation between the two countries.

"Besides the low taxes, we also have economic zones where companies do not pay profit tax and personal income tax in the first ten years. They are also exempted from payment of customs duties for import of raw materials", Gruevski tells "La Nacion".

The paper says Macedonia has attracted a number of multinational companies, who use this platform to export their products worldwide.

With regards to areas of cooperation between Argentina and Macedonia, Gruevski refers to agriculture, automotive, chemical and textile industries.

"Bilateral trade is low and barely reaches EUR 50 million. Sixty percent of Macedonian exports go in the European Union, while 30 percent in non-EU countries, but related to it. Main exports are automotive parts, steel, textile, agriculture, chemical and pharmaceutical products. The country implements continual reforms, including the regulatory guillotine, which eliminates a bulk of the bureaucracy for doing business", reads the "La Nation" article.

"We have come to Argentina so that companies from this country join the wave and open their capacities in Macedonia", underlines PM Gruevski in the paper.
