The International Day of Families - May 18 was observed Saturday in Skopje City Park.

The Association for Care and Education of Children of the City of Skopje and members of the children's choir "Zlatno Slavejce" prepared the programme.

Labour Minister Spiro Ristovski and his family were among the attendees at this event, who said that every year International Day of Families will be celebrated during period while he is a minister, because the family is the basic cell of society and a healthy and harmonious family is the basis for creation of healthy society, strong and stable state, Ristovski said.

At the moment, Macedonia faces a serious problem of a low birth rate and therefore this kind of activities are carried out aimed at motivating the people to comprehend the sensitivity and seriousness of the problem, he said.
