Stavreski-Bogov: Macedonia's financial sector stable

 

Macedonia's financial sector is stable in spite of the insecurity of global economy and financial markets, Vice-Premier/FinMin Zoran Stavreski and National Bank (NBRM) Governor Dimitar Bogov told reporters Monday ahead of a meeting with representatives of the financial supervisory bodies.

"The financial sector is stable. The banks and other segments of the financial market have been managing to successfully respond to the current challenges deriving from the European, global crisis. Naturally there are some developments that will be addressed at today's meeting," Stavreski said.

In spite of the sound financialsector NBRM and the Ministry of Finance should keep coordinating their activities in supervising the developments in this sector, Stavreski and Bogov said.

This is the third meeting of the financial supervisory bodies for one year. Exchange of opinions and information

on the activities within the entire financial sector make these meetings very useful and they are becoming a regular practice, Bogov said.
