Gruevski meets UNGA President Jeremic

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski late Thursday met with President of the 67th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Vuk Jeremic in the frames of the 6th Astana Economic Forum 2013.

The collocutors pointed out the importance on participation at global events as Astana forum where economic topics are discussed which concern the economic relations of the participating countries and which an important factor in overcoming the challenges from the world economic crisis.

Gruevski voiced the importance from exchange of experiences and the fact that such events are a good opportunity to acquaint collocutors and participants with the processes and global economic trends. This kind of participation gives a chance for promotion of potentials, capacities and reforms made by the countries aimed at increasing the investment activity and attracting foreign capital, Gruevski said. For Macedonia this segment is of significant importance because this forum is an excellent opportunity to meet businessmen, scientists, Nobel Prize laureates in the sphere of economy and to promote reforms and investment potentials.

Jeremic expressed his satisfaction from Macedonia’s participation at Astana Economic Forum, emphasising that UN, which is one of the organisers of this global event, is interested in more active role of the countries in the process of mutual finding of solutions for current issues.

The collocutors also exchanged views on integration processes in South East Europe, the need of continuous reforms aimed at achieving higher standards in the sphere of social processes, modalities of managing and surpassing the effects from global and regional negative economic trends in order to create conditions for economic development.
