Government offers favorable financial SME instruments

The Government will announce Monday a public call for favorable loans intended for job openings in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

EUR 5 million per year are projected for the measure, along with the ones crediting self-employment of unemployed individuals and for reduction of unemployment.

"If there is an interest for more jobs exceeding the projected limit, the Government will increase the financial plan in the citizens' interest", said Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev at Sunday's press conference.

Each new job will be funded by EUR 3,000, with a maximum of three per enterprise.

"The funds are to be repaid within three years, including one year grace period. The interest rate stands at one percent, the lowest in the region", said Gjorgjiev.

Micro enterprises up to 10 employees and small-sized enterprises up to 40 employees are eligible to apply. They have to be registered for at least a year, have at least two employees for a period of three months, and not to have reduced the number of employees over the past six months.
