Macedonian doctors to study traditional Chinese medicine in Beijing

Macedonian doctors by the end of this year or during 2014 will attend trainings for traditional Chinese medicine in Beijing, it has been agreed in principle at Tuesday's meeting between Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and officials of Guang’anmen Hospital in China.

"Hospital managers have agreed to train Macedonian doctors. Trainings will last up to three months depending on what they will be specializing in," Gruevski stated after visiting Guang’anmen Hospital.

"I'm satisfied with this meeting and hopefully by the end of 2013 or in 2014 our doctors will be trained for traditional Chinese medicine here in Beijing," he added.

The visit, Gruevski stated, aimed at establishing cooperation with the Chinese hospital for trainings.

Hospital managers informed PM Gruevski about the performances of its doctors who focus on development of traditional medicine combined with modern methods for medical treatments.

"The collaboration is part of the Government's commitment to enable Macedonian doctors to share experience with and acquire knowledge from doctors working in top medical centers around the world," the PM said.

Founded in 1955, Guang’anmen Hospital is an affiliated hospital of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is a general hospital of TCM conducting clinical practice, scientific research and teaching, together with specialties in a number of departments.
